World Hindi Day is celebrated on 10th January every year. National Hindi Day is celebrated on 14th September. The purpose of World Hindi Day is to create awareness for the promotion of Hindi in the world and to introduce Hindi as an international language. Embassies of India abroad specially celebrate this day. Lectures in Hindi on various subjects are conducted in all government offices. The World Hindi Conferences were started with the objective of developing and propagating Hindi in the world and since the first World Hindi Conference was held on January 10, 1975 in Nagpur, this day has been celebrated as 'World Hindi Day'.
